Pessaries are OB/GYN products used for the non-surgical management of certain gynecologic conditions. There are a several types of pessaries, each designed and used for a specific treatment. This product is a Size 8, 90mm Gehrung pessary. It is used for moderate to severe, or third degree uterine prolapse, particularly with a cystocele or rectocele. Like the cube pessary, the Gehrung pessary may be difficult to insert and may cause the patient some discomfort. Many pessaries can treat multiple conditions and each patient may find one to be more comfortable than another. A pesssary that provides the necessary degree of support and is most comfortable for the patient should be used.
