Sklar's S-curved Swan neck gouge is used in removing particular sections of bone, or alternately, used like a chisel with increased force for bone splitting. The distinguising feature is the Swan shaped curve which eases access to difficult to reach areas while keeping the surgical field visible. The handle is similar to the Lexer.
